Happy 2014

There is a lot of exciting things happening this year. My summer show calendar is already filling up for the summer–but most notably, I’ll be getting married in early fall!

Some 2014 dates have been posted, with a few coming up in the winter months (so far). I’ll be at the Mad Moose BBQ Friday, February 28th, followed by the Blind Tiger Saturday, March 15th.

Here are some highlights from 2013 that I found starting with my “Queen Bee” and best man, Russ Esken rocking “Royals” by Lorde New Year’s Eve with Les Fowler shredding on a half-working guitar, followed by a little CCR clip at Uncle Tony’s from the summer.

December Dates Added!

After a month off, I’m happy to announce a few dates to close out 2013!

First, this Friday I’ll be returning to Abel’s Pub on the West Side of Binghamton at 9 p.m.

Friday, December 27th cure your post-Christmas hangover at the Blind Tiger Pub… I’ll be there 8-11 p.m.

And, I’m truly excited to announce a scaled down Blue Shadow reunion for New Year’s Eve in Scranton.

Some of my best friends and extremely talented musicians, Les Fowler and Russ Esken, will join me for a set at Poor Richard’s Pub. The pub, made famous by The Office is going to be a great time and has a great crowd from what I hear. We’ll be playing from 7:30 to 9:30 and will be followed by a DJ to dance (and bowl) into the new year!

Old Friends, New Friends

Friday marked the end of summer as I played my last outdoor show of the season. It was a great crowd thanks to the weather and of course, Remlik’s amazing Restaurant Week Menu!

We also had a lot of fun celebrating the birthday of a great singer, Mocca, who joined me for a handful of songs toward the end of the night. Also on stage was one of my first bandmates from high school, Nic Hatfield, who dusted of his old lefty acoustic for the first time in years.

Here are some clips from Friday:

Thanks to everyone that came out to enjoy the deck! I have taken a bit of a break since Labor Day but the calendar is starting to fill out again. I’ll be at the Blind Tiger this Saturday and Abel’s Pub Friday, October 11. There will be many more to come so keep checking in!

With Help From A Little Friend

This kid has rhythm! That’s Sydney–who was finally able to come out to a show last week at the Blind Tiger now that school is out for summer.

Next show is at the Galley in Endwell Friday, July 19th at 8 and the following Friday at Uncle Tony’s at 6:30. Hopefully we’ll see her rock the egg shakers again!

Introducing the FRANKENBASS (updated)

IT’S ALIVE!!

Thursday night my bud, Shaun Andrews and I debuted our power trio of two act. The third member being a MIDI bass foot pedal I built with parts on ebay. The “Frankenbass,” as we’ve come to call it, is a 13-note pedalboard set up likes keys on piano and can be programed to play an array of sounds.

The Blind Tiger was gracious enough to let us experiment with this new venture and it appeared to be a success. In case you missed it, there’s more dates coming up this summer at the Blind Tiger and other great bars around town. This Friday, I’ll be at the Beef on Binghamton’s west side starting at 9:30 p.m. Later dates this summer are listed (UPDATE: dates just added at Uncle Tony’s June 21 and July 26) on the calendar. Hope to see you there for more rock!

More Fun At The BTP

Friday marked another great time at the Blind Tiger Pub in Endwell!

The next show at the BTP will be in late June–with the possibility of a couple of Thursday dates in May as well. Stay tuned for updates. Also be sure to check out my band, 6 Mile High at the Cyber Cafe in Binghamton May 4th

In the meantime, enjoy one of the many times I enjoy making a fool of myself for a laugh. This song ended up being one of the biggest hits of the night. Who would have thought?

Fun With E-Drums

A few weeks back, my best friend and musical life partner, Shaun and myself got together to record some tunes with his electric drum kit.

The idea is to expand the one-man acoustic show to include a more rockin’ set. Aside from sounding fantastic, the e-drums have a very important feature for smaller venues: volume control. Hopefully in the future we’ll be playing some bars where drums wouldn’t normally be welcome–unless Shaun played with dry spaghetti instead of drum sticks.

In the meantime, don’t forget I’ll be playing at the Blind Tiger Pub this Friday from 8 – 11 p.m. (sans drums this time).

Here’s a sample of one of our recent rehearsals with a few cameras thrown up around the room:

New Dates Added!

After a great Great Guinness Toast a couple of weeks ago, The Blind Tiger has graciously invited me back to play a few shows throughout the Spring and Summer.

The first one back will be Friday, April 19th from 8 – 11 p.m. (hopefully outside by then). Hope to see you there!

I have also added a more detailed calendar of events. Please keep checking back as more dates are scheduled.
